actio/reactio is a production company founded in 2006. Our focus is primarily on creating performance works in both visual art and theatrical contexts that heighten relationships between the audience and the performer or text, and that have a life beyond the performance. Currently we are at work on a project titled ALL WE’VE GOT that brings together documentary film with intimate community-based events, as well as an interactive web-based platform for sharing stories.
Past productions include Enough! (performance art and publication), High Line Park, New York, NY, 2010; Conversation by Alexis Clements, directed by Rosalie Purvis at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival in 2010; Your Own Personal Apocalypse (performance art, installation, and publication), at Chashama (East 42nd Street, NYC), and as part of the One Million Forgotten Moments Project (NYC); Dance Away Your Debt (performance and publication), at the NYC Dance Parade and FIGMENT 2008; and The Interview by Alexis Clements, directed by Sarah Norman, at the Pleasance Dome (one of the Edinburgh Fringe’s top 3 venues), Edinburgh Fringe, Scotland, 2006.
We are based in Brooklyn, NY.
